FAQ ZoneAlarm

When using some of the older versions of Zone Alarm if needed the below procedure guides you through the steps of giving the ContentScreen  software the permissions it needs to get through the Zone Alarm Firewall.

Procedure

1. All versions of Windows require changes to the 'ZoneAlarm Firewall'.

2. Inside of ZoneAlarm the user will need to find a area called 'Program Control'.

3. In this section they will see many applications listed such as 'Outlook' or 'Internet Explorer' or 'MSN Messenger'. This section is basically a list of applications that need Internet Access. In this area look for 'Filter7.exe' (this is part of the ContentScreen).

4. Now look next to 'Filter7.exe' and the user will see a row with 4 selections. In these selections you will see either 'check marks' or 'question marks'. The user will need to click on the 'question marks' so they will turn into 'check marks'.

5. When the user is finished they should have 4 separate 'check marks' next to 'Filter7.exe'.

6. Now exit ZoneAlarm and restart the computer normally.

After the reboot ContentScreen will be able to resume filtering.
